Gandhi Junior

Ever since I saw the movie "Gandhi My Father" that examines the troubled relationship between Gandhiji & his oldest son Harilal, I have begun to see the Mahatma as a human being who just like any other, also made mistakes. His strongest convictions and clear vision were the same ones that propelled our country to freedom while shattering the life of the very person he called "Son". The movie left me feeling angry and sympathetic at the same time towards both characters. However, the mother Kasturba was the one with the most in her plate, torn between duty and maternal love.

The director Feroz Abbas Khan has made an excellent directorial transition from theater to cinema and I sincerely hope to see this movie be India's nominee to be sent for the Oscars "Best Foreign Film" category next year. It has every chance to win! I also hope to see more movies of this caliber be made by Indian filmmakers in the near future; something that has a message and looks classy at the same time.

Sunkissed!

Yes I am talking about California! In every sense of the word, this is one state that enjoys an abundance of sunshine everywhere through and through. On the same account, more and more home-owners are powering up the solar way. With incredible tax incentives and a great net-metering system, you can come a long way to help PG&E offset its electricity supply. What's more, PG&E has started offering an Energy Efficiency Education Program available through seminars and online classes to increase the common man's knowledge on alternative energy sources. Try it out, its FREE!

My Home...

...is a place called Earth; sown and reaped on a bazillion times. And today I plan to start writing on how we can pay it back with just a little bit of common sense and love. My hope is to also write on people less talked and thought about; the poor, the challenged, the oppressed and the deprived.

I believe it is everyone's birthright to a life of good "quality" as long as one earns it. What would make it full circle would be to share it with the rest of the world while remembering that we are all here today because of Mother Earth!

Watch out for my posts on news, non-profits, movies, books, governments, policies etc etc etc.
